Discovering new brands

One of the best parts of working at Net-à-Porter (oh yes you’ve read that right, I am on a cloud!!) is discovering new independent brands. Two that really caught my eye recently are ‘LE 17 SEPTEMBRE’ a Korean brand founded by former blogger Eunhye Shin (which I’m going to learn more about tomorrow at a brand presentation event), and ‘REMAIN Birger Christensen’, an extension of the Copenhagen store Birger Christensen which you might know because of their other popular extension ROTATE. Both are in some way new versions of Old Céline (at more affordable prices): they have a sophisticated approach to basics and impeccable tailoring. I have to say I am tempted to buy a few pieces because they make me excited for fall fashion. Bring me the cardigans and the beautiful coats!

The best steak I’ve ever had – Flat Iron

My sister came to visit London last week and one of the restaurants we wanted to visit together was Flat Iron. I’d heard so many good review about it beforehand, which probably explained the hour and 45 minutes we would have had to wait on the Friday night to eat there (they don’t take reservations). But we went for lunch the next day instead and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. I love the simplicity of their menu because you basically have to choose a side and a sauce to go with your meat and that’s it. Since it is fairly affordable, I will be able to go back whenever I want, yay!

Not caring too much about my birthday

So tomorrow I am turning 22, and for the first time in my life I feel pretty chilled about my birthday. I’ve accomplished most of the dreams on my bucket list, so this will be a year of evaluating what I want next. I’m happy to be getting older because I’ve always felt older than my age. But don’t worry, I will still be celebrating ;)

What have you been loving this week?
