The F Word, Lily Pebbles
So I pre-ordered The F Word a while ago, and I was very excited to read it as Lily Pebbles is one of my favourite Youtubers, and modern female friendship is a topic I find bloody interesting! However, I can't hide my disappointment with the book. I think the topics she discusses are super relevant like gossiping, long-distance friendship, being at different stages in your life, etc. But it was done on a very surface level. I would have appreciated if the book combined statistics with personal experiences and maybe insights from other people. There are also some instances in the book that made me feel like I was a not as a good as a friend as she is. I think Lily had the best of intentions writing this book, and we can see through her videos that she cares deeply about her friends. I still enjoyed reading it because it made me think about my own personal experiences and how I could have done things differently. I've seen many negative reviews on the book but for the most part, I enjoyed reading it. If you are looking for a book that is probably more grown up and, I recommend Dolly Alderton's book as it covers deeper layers of female friendship.
Did you read The F Word ? What did you think of it?
