I wouldn’t say I’m a very spontaneous person. I like when things are planned months in advance so I can prepare mentally and write a thousand to-do lists. However, when Franzi messaged me Sunday morning asking if I wanted to go to Brighton the next day, I agreed (okay not immediately, but within a few hours)! And that is how we ended up taking a train from St-Pancras to Brighton on Monday morning. On top of everything, we were blessed with sun despite the grim weather forecast!

We didn’t have a planned itinerary for the day, but we had made a list the night before of all the places we wanted to go back to, and the new places we wanted to discover. This included a lovely walk on the pebbles beach, followed by a walk around The Lanes. The shops that were on our list were Workshop Living (the best place for interior lovers), Our Daily Edit (which has an incredible curation of Scandi designer pieces), Papersmiths (stationery galore), Waterstones (the one in Brighton is amazing), and Magazine (good selection of independent publications). The highlight of our day was trying the black & white photo booth at Photomatic.

As for food, we had lunch at a cute place called Café Coho, and coffee later in the afternoon at The Flour Pot Bakery.

All and all, it was an amazing day and I’m excited for my next impromptu trip!
