After a whirlwind four months trying to manage everything from school to work to social life, I needed to start my summer vacation with a light read. Something funny but also a page-turner I could read in less than a week. And I found the perfect book: Do This For Me by Eliza Kennedy. This is the story of Raney Moore, a powerful attorney who one day, receives a call saying her husband is cheating on her. She has the best revenge for him (I don't want to spoil anything) and the book follows her into her new life as she discovers herself and tries to understand why her marriage wasn't working.
This book was surprising at times but also very entertaining. The story line was different from most chick lit books and I liked that the pace was quite fast. I also think the main character is very unique, she reacts to events in very improbable manners and that is what makes the book captivating. The relationships she has with the people around her, whether that's her therapist, her kids or her employees, will make you reflect on your own interactions with the people around you and how you would do things differently. This book is classified as "humorous fiction" but I would definitely say it's in the contemporary women section as well. It's a perfect holiday read that I'm sure will make you laugh!
