So as you may or may not know, I spent two weeks in Scandinavia this summer. I already posted the recaps of the Swedish cities we visited, and now it's time for Copenhagen in Denmark! First of all I just want to thank my friend Amy who was the best host possible for the Denmark part of the trip (and also thank you to Elisabeth my Swedish friend for the Sweden part). It was amazing!

Of course, we visited the very touristy places of Copenhagen, like the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace or Nyhavn, which were all very interesting and gorgeous sights, but experiencing the real lifestyle of the city was my favorite part! During two of the days we were there, we decided to go everywhere by bike and avoid buses and metros! The circulation of cars in Copenhagen is influenced by the traffic of bikes, since it's the most popular way of transportation! It was very effective, fast, cheap, and we got to exercise a little. Biking was definitely the most fun part of sightseeing, and I recommend it to everyone who visits this city.

We also happened to be in Copenhagen at the same time as the Stella Polaris festival, a free open-air music festival that looks like a giant picnic. I swear, everyone was eating, drinking and chatting with friends while listening to some chill music in a giant park! The city really had a laid-back vibe and it was very enjoyable.

Stay tuned for part 2 of my Copenhagen trip, I will be talking about other must sees of the city!!
