Summer is the perfect time for lighthearted books, and ever since I finished my semester, I've read over 10 books already. So I decided to share with you my two recent reads that I loved the best (mostly chick lit and lifestyle). With that, I'm also posting a mini outfit "post" showing you one of my favourite statement pieces of the summer: a lightweight embroidered vest. It makes me look like some kind of modern-day pirate because of the sleeves, but I love it!

Leave Your Mark - Aliza Licht

Not too long ago, my friend Cassidy, behind the blog Styled by Seven, lend me this book. It is like a mentorship on paper with one of the most influential PR girls in the fashion industry, who was behind the twitter account DKNY PR girl for many years. And let me tell you, this one is a page-turner! If you are looking to break into the fashion industry, or if you just want some really great career advices, I highly suggest you put this book on your reading list.

First Comes Love - Emily Giffin

As cheesy as it may sound, I'm a huge fan of chick literature (or chick lit). I received this book as a birthday present, and I read it in a day. Emily Giffin is one of my favourite authors, and I'm always amazed by the way she always comes with unexpected endings; not to say that I didn't flick through the pages to read the final pages... hehe! This one is about a family, a tragedy, different paths, love, and values. I'm not going to say too much about the plot because I'm afraid of spilling out too much, but definitely check it out!

On my reading list next (all on my bedside table waiting for their turn): Baby Proof by Emily Giffin, Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, The Singles Game by Lauren Weisberger, and Killing Monica by Candace Bushnell. What's on yours? Love. S.
