As much as I love skincare and its benefits both for the face and the mind, it's a ritual I find difficult to implement for the rest of my body. I'm not good with body moisturizers and scrubs, probably because it is so time-consuming, and my legs and arms aren't really on the show in winter. I know it's something I need to make an effort with, especially at this time of the year. This is why I was so happy to discover the new Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel last weekend on a staycation with the Bio Oil team. It is the first product the brand releases in 30 years and it's a good one!

At first glance, the product looks like a pink jelly and it has a mint-smell a bit like the La Mer lip balm. The formulation only contains 3% of water (compared to 70% for most body moisturizers),which means the consistency is very oily. I would say it takes a bit of time to figure out the right quantity you need, but keep in mind it should be very little.

I had dry patches on my elbows (thank you lovely Canadian winter) and within three days of using the product, I saw a big difference. My mom also has been using it and she has a very sensitive skin but loved the soothing effect it had on her skin.

All and all, it was a great discovery and I’m excited to continue to use it this winter. It’s also relatively affordable, so it’s great for the wallet!
