This year was a ROLLERCOASTER. Spring of this year was probably the most magical season of all because I really got to enjoy my city (remember when I did the 10K steps a day challenge?) and I also had one of the best trips of my life. It was a real high, but then the rest of the year was more on the ‘low’ end with not much happening, terrible weather, and a very challenging school semester. 2018 was also the year I got my UK visa, which means my biggest dream will come true in only a few months. Here is a review of my highlights of the year, and at the end of the post, a list of my goals for the next one.

Oslo with my bestie

I must admit, I have a soft spot for Scandinavia. After watching SKAM last year, I decided I wanted to go to Oslo with my bestie Elisabeth. It was such a fun trip with phenomenal weather and highlights like a fjord cruise, a music festival, fika, shopping at Ganni, eating the best food, having a ‘Norwegian party’ and more! I will forever remember this week, and will definitely go back someday. Elisabeth is definitely the best travel buddy I could have asked for!

The Laslett with Martine (and Internet friends)

Right before my trip to Oslo, I got to hangout with my Internet friend Martine in London. One of the things we did was have lunch at The Laslett. This place will forever have a place in my heart. I don’t know if it was because of the vibe or just because I had the best company. It also got me thinking about blogger friends and Internet friends. I have a few people on my list that I am forever grateful to have in my life who I can talk about blogging stuff with starting with Martine, but also Sophie, Marianne, Gabrielle and Cassidy. They definitely contributed to the awesomeness of 2018.

Working at Love that Bag

The day I came back from my European trip, I learned that the company I worked for was bought by another company. At the time I found it very stressful and I admit I found it challenging to have to adapt so quickly. However it ended up being one of the best things that happened this year with new people coming on board and a brand new office space. I absolutely love my job and always look forward to going to work. It will be a real bummer when I have to leave these wonderful people.

Completing my book challenge

At the beginning of the year, I also set myself up with the challenge of reading 52 books and I did it! I read some of my favourite books this year, discovered new authors, had so many conversations about books with other people and genuinely fell even more in love with reading than before (if that’s even possible). I am so proud of myself for this challenge!

Meeting my role models

2018 was surreal, I met SO many of my role models and I’m going to list them here for the purpose of this exercise: Dolly Alderton, Pandora Sykes, Anna Newton (The Anna Edit), Emma Gannon and Lily Allen. I don’t want to sound like a fan girl but they each inspire me in their own way and I look up to their amazing achievements!

2019 GOALS

Now time for the goals I’m setting up for the new year. They’re not resolutions, just accomplishments I want to complete.

  1. Move to London and take in everything the city has to offer

  2. Work for a well-established fashion company in London

  3. Graduate

  4. Attend live podcasts and community events in London to meet people with similar interests

  5. See more of Europe (maybe more of the Nordic countries… Finland I’m looking at you)

  6. Attend Copenhagen Fashion Week in August (the dream)

  7. Continue to post 2 to 3 blog posts a week

  8. Not finish a book if I don't like it

  9. 10k steps a day for 90 days

  10. Make new friends

What were your highlights of this year and goals for the new year?
