Fashion is often portrayed as a trivial hobby, something only “stupid girls” like to engage with. But I completely disagree with that. Most of the popular luxury brands today started as small little boutiques which have evolved over the years to become references in craftsmanship and art. Fashion is an art. Every collection takes time, talent and creativity to make. Each brand creates its own universe and fashion lovers will then mix and match these clothes to create an outfit that’s true to them. Following the evolution of a brand or of a creative director’s career is fascinating to me and this is why I think designer fashion is so important. These pieces are collector’s items and represent so much more than just a “luxury” token. On the other hand, I also don’t think a wardrobe should include only branded luxury pieces. I think a perfect wardrobe consists of only a few special designer items that reflect your style and then good quality basics that you can wear forever. So today I’m presenting you with some of my dream luxury pieces. And please do not hesitate to share yours with me in the comments!
1) Loewe Hammock Bag (OR Loewe Puzzle Bag)
Loewe has to be my favourite brand for handbags, and that’s because in terms of quality, they are the Hermès of Spain. Each bag has a unique construction, and a beautiful finishing including gold-plated hardware. I love this one because the handles can be converted into the shoulder strap (a bit like the Hermes Lindy).
2) Hermès Tan Oran Sandals
To me, these sandals are the epitome of chic. They truly reflect the elegance of the brand while still being subtle.
3) Céline Alphabet Necklace
This is a cool piece from last season (one of Phoebe Philo’s last collections), and I think it is one of the most unique jewelry pieces. The oversized look makes it a beautiful piece that won’t go unnoticed.
4) JW Anderson Logo Bag
Another bag ahah! To me bags are the best designer pieces to invest in because they will last a long time and you can wear them with pretty much anything. The JW Anderson logo bag is refined and has a navy-inspired look with the anchor logo, which I love.
5) Céline Sunglasses (Either the Catherine or the Audrey model)
Oversized sunglasses are the only ones that look good on me, and Old Céline was THE designer in my books for the best sunglasses.
6) The Row Ascot Bag
And finally, a beautiful satin bag designed by the Olsen Twins.
